SUGGESTIONS FOR WINTERFEST ONLINE SUBMISSIONS WRITING: Whether you are an old hand at crafting a tale or whether this would be your first attempt, we encourage you to create a Beauty and the Beast story, poem or song parody/filk. Or if you prefer, write an essay on a particular topic that intrigues you about Beauty and the Beast. We do ask that the stories be no more than 25,000 words in length. If you can't figure out how to make your word processor give you a word count, you may want to try this tool: http://www.wordcounttool.com/.It could even be your own round robin! Gather a group of BATB friends, and take turns writing. You needn't have a group of 9, nor is there a restriction on how many chapters each person can write. This is your round robin - write it as you like. It could be two people alternating paragraphs - a duel, if you will. It could be a poem. It could be a group of 4 taking turns writing a drabble (exactly 100 words). It could be like the round robins you've seen at Winterfest in the past, or anything in the between. ART: Do you have a flair for the artistic? Then dust off your pens & pencils, paints & brushes, chalk, modeling clay or any other medium and let your creative side out to play. Pictures or scans of your work should be sent in any web compatible format. COMPUTER GENERATED ITEMS: A whole world of imagination is waiting for you to explore: photomontages, wallpapers, animated gifs, cards, slideshows, videos or anything else you and your computer can design. How about BATB ads? Grab some screen caps or photos, throw in some text, mix well, and create your own poster ad. For you vidders out there, create a 30-second ad video for the series as a whole or a specific episode. Or how about creating a cartoon or a comic strip depicting a short exchange between the various BATB characters? Vincent and Father. Jamie and Mouse. Catherine and Joe. Any combination that tickles your fancy. Audio recordings: Read aloud and send to us in an audio format a favorite short story, a poem or the lyrics to a song that captures something of the spirit of the tunnels. We would also love to receive recordings done by children. Children were a large part of the tunnel family and we are sure that their voices would have been heard often in the tunnels reciting some best- loved poem or favorite tale. WEBSITES OR WEBPAGES: Consider building a new Beauty and the Beast website and introducing your new “chamber” during WFOL 2015. Or if you have a website, construct a Winterfest themed page.
