Submission Guidelines

Winterfest Online 2012


February 4th - 12th

SUGGESTIONS FOR WINTERFEST ONLINE SUBMISSIONS

WRITING: Whether you are an old hand at crafting a tale or whether this would be your first attempt, we encourage you to create a Beauty and the Beast story, poem or song parody/filk. Or if you prefer, write an essay on a particular topic that intrigues you about Beauty and the Beast. We do ask that the stories be no more than 25,000
words in length. If you can't figure out how to make your word processor give you a word count, you may want to try this tool:

ART: Do you have a flair for the artistic? Then dust off your pens & pencils, paints & brushes, chalk, modeling clay or any other medium and let your creative side out to play. Pictures or scans of your work should be sent in any web compatible format.

COMPUTER GENERATED ITEMS: A whole world of imagination is waiting for you to explore: photomontages, wallpapers, animated gifs, cards, slideshows, videos or anything else you and your computer can design.

WEBSITES OR WEBPAGES: Consider building a new Beauty and the Beast website and introducing your new “chamber” during WFOL 2011. Or if you have a website, construct a Winterfest themed page.

OTHER POSSIBILITIES: The fans of BATB are an amazingly talented group of people, so there is no way we could think of all the possibilities for contributing to this year’s Winterfest Online celebration. Anything not mentioned above is welcome; sewing, needlework, crafts, scrapbooking, collections, etc, etc, etc. Send pictures or scans of your finished project accompanied by any patterns, descriptions or sketches that you wish to include.


Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be "original" - entirely your own (although, we recognize that all B&B works are derivative. If your submission incorporates someone else's work, be sure you have their permission and that you have put your unique touch on it.) Your entries should not have previously appeared on any other websites or in any zines.
  • Winterfest themes are encouraged, but anything Beauty and the Beast will be welcome
  • Submissions for all seasons and of all ratings are welcomed.
  • Submissions in any languages are accepted.
  • We reserve the right to label all submissions in whatever way we deem necessary or not to post anything we deem inappropriate.
  • Entries must be received by January 8, 2012.

    1. The file, URL, or text of your entry
    2. Your email address
    3. Your name as you would like it used to identify your work
