A friend of Diana's who is a psychiatrist agrees to provide counseling for Vincent and Catherine and through deep hypnosis, helps Vincent work through his feelings and remember the night he and Catherine first made love.

Vincent proposes to Catherine and shortly before the wedding, Catherine discovers that she's pregnant. During her pregnancy, due to light deprivation while living Below, Catherine suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder which brings on depression, lethargy and an obsessive desire to escape outside.
